Introduction/Project Description

Winvic have been appointed as principal contractor to deliver an extension on behalf of Aero Fabrications Ltd, to their existing facility in Watnall.

In brief, works will comprise of; earthworks, drainage and civils installations, concrete foundation works, structural steel erection, feature fascia cladding, mechanical and electrical installations, production area/ office fit out, pedestrian and vehicular hard standing with an extensive landscaping scheme.

Current Activities

In the lead up to project launch, ecology assessments, surveying work and minor enabling works to secure the site have been carried out.

Initial weeks on site will be spent on our earthworks strategy, closely followed by drainage and foundation work.

The main steel portal frames of the building will start being erected in July.

At Winvic we believe in working closely with the community to minimise any disturbance our works may cause. This project will be enrolled with the Considerate Constructors Scheme to ensure the highest standards are achieved.

Vehicular traffic will be monitored and major deliveries booked to minimise any disruption caused to local businesses and close neighbours. An agreement is in place with the previous land owner and tenant farmer to utilise Common Lane for access, where appropriate, to further mitigate disruption.

Dust and noise will be monitored throughout, working closely with the local authorities to manage our construction works as efficiently as possible.

As part of our Site Waste Management Plan, we have appointed a national recycling contractor who are also a registered supplier with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. We engage effective recycling methods with the ability to recover or recycle 98.9% of all waste that leaves site.

As another element of our quality control, we aim to reduce the impact of our work on the neighbours by following the codes of practice set out in the Considerate Constructors Scheme [CCS], to which all Winvic projects are entered.
